Curbell Educates the Nurse Call Market with
Information about Oxygen Safety

Orchard Park, NY – May 1, 2007

Over the last few years, UL has initiated important changes to the regulations associated with oxygen safety that impact nurse call accessories. Curbell Electronics has invested a great deal of time and resources to ensure that the nurse call accessories they manufacture continue to meet all oxygen safety compliance standards. In addition, many of their nurse call accessories have been tested with the OEM Nurse Call system to meet UL listing requirements. Most manufacturers in the marketplace cannot make this claim.

Because of the regulation changes, healthcare facilities have been struggling to understand oxygen safety regulations and labeling. It is because of this confusion that Curbell will be working to educate the market on what the oxygen safety standards are for pillow speakers and other nurse call accessories. Curbell's publication, "A Guide to Understanding Oxygen Safety (and how it relates to your nurse call accessories)" is available immediately from Curbell. Curbell has also launched a new wesbite, www.oxygensafe.com with this information.

Curbell Electronics emerged when Curbell, Inc. was selected by General Electric in the early 1960s to fabricate and assemble complete wired remote control units for hospital televisions, commonly referred to today as “Pillow Speakers.” They then utilized their assembly experience and knowledge to build relationships with a variety of other television manufacturers, such as Zenith, RCA, and Admiral. Today, Curbell Electronics is the largest replacement manufacturer, and system and product integrator of signaling devices and other related accessories for the hospital and nursing home markets in the United States.

Serving its customers for over sixty years, Curbell, Inc. is a progressive organization driven by strong values with a proud Dun & Bradstreet credit rating of a 4A1.
